"揭阳新正顺潮剧团"，已运营三十多年。团长李洁娜，自幼自学潮剧，后带动全家和村里其他人一起经营了四个剧团，常年活跃于潮汕寺庙祭神，丧葬等民俗活动，问起为何做剧团是因为喜欢艺术吗？答“不，因为做别的工作经常被欠钱，但谁都不敢欠潮剧团的钱。”（潮剧团演出几乎都是民俗活动，先由村理事会向村民筹款，筹到款后才请剧团。）
"dongcunxinfu" could be all the bizarre things a group of strong, tearful women from any ordinary village have done to find ways to survive. We ran a women's sewing cooperative, splitting every penny equally— in the end, the treasurer only paid herself a few cents. We also turned banners found on the road into clothes that became a new fashion favorite among Germans, and even used sewing machines to create "air films." Our dream within a dream is to birth a tiny stage, one that truly drifts freely.
＂Xin Zheng Shun Teochew Opera Troupe＂has been in existence for more than 30 years.
Troupe Leader Li Jiena, taught herself Teochew opera from a young age. She later mobilized her entire family and fellow villagers to run four opera troupes. These troupes are regularly engaged in Teochew folk activities like temple ceremonies and funerals.
When asked if she started the troupes out of artistic passion, she replied:
“No. It’s because people often withheld payment for other jobs, but nobody dares to owe money to a custom pera troupe .”
